- We began rehearsals for our winter concert in February – our theme was ½ the concert with Around the World Folk Songs ½ the concert American Folk Songs ending with a Stephan Foster Medley. We scheduled the concert for May 16th at the Methodist Church. However, in March a World wide pandemic began.
- The Board and Andrew met and decided it was best to cancel all rehearsals and the concert.
- April Board meeting – we made a plan to collect all music out. We discussed the Fall concert cycle – it will depend on social distancing/isolation/quarantine orders...we may not have a fall cycle and want singers to be prepared.
- Andrew decided not to continue; he was resigning from his position at the HS and stepping away (moving) from the TC2 Chorus, as well.
- Board began searching for a new Director – 10 names were discussed at our Board meeting.
- July the Board hired Christopher Koch as our new Choral Director
- August – meet and greet singers and Christopher
- Board and Director decided to postpone fall cycle as COVID -19 cases continued to rise. There is still a lot of questions and concerns.
- No Board meetings in November & December 2020
|
|
- Board reconvened in February
- Christopeher Koch proposed that he step down as Choral Director because his schedule is very unknown. He would like to continue to support TC2 with their infrastructure/growth and continue with the website & FaceBook pages. He proposed hiring Emma Bergman, THS Choir teacher to be the new TC2 Choral Director. He would collaborate/mentor & assist, as he is able. His new title will be Artistic Director.
- We continue to have discussions regarding the COVID pandemic.
- We are hopeful we can begin this fall.
- Take the time to get policies set; update bylaws; catalog music
- In February - Emma Bergman was hired as the new Choral Director
- Vaccinations will be required for all who participate in the chorus
- A roll over in Board positions; creating and defining “membership” vs participation as a singer in the chorus – on-going discussion
- Begin planing for a Christmas concert (with a start date in Sept & concert Dec 5, 2021
- Mary Wood resigns as TC2 President (moving) in August; Rick Miller will take over her duties.
- Facebook and webpage ready for roll out in August
- Fall concert cycle has been postponed. Board and both Director agreed it was still not safe for Chorus to resume. We will use music purchased and use during the next concert cycle.
- Singer/participant list will be updated
- Emma Bergman, Choral Director, resigns (November)
- Rick Miller, Vice President/Interim President, resigns (November)
- Kathy Forbes, Secretary/Interim President
- Membership language created;
- Music has been cataloged and organized
- Discussion & making a plan regarding TC2 organization; continue or dissolve organization; search for a new Choral Director; defining roles & responsibilities; membership drive
|
|
- Search for new Choral Director begins (Jan)
- Amendment made and sent to Oregon Corporation Division (approved)
- The Board decided it was best to cancel the winter cycle
- The big question for the Board – what do we want this organization to look like in 5, 10 years? We need to find someone who fits in with our community, Mission statement and vision for our future
- Choral History has been updated
- All music is cataloged, organized, title, author and number of copies
|
|
- Tillamook Community Chorus (TC2) dissolves as an organization.
- Our assets were distributed among the Tillamook High School choral program (All of our music); cash donations were given to Monday Musical and Tillamook Association of Performing Arts (TAPA).
- It was a hard decision for the remaining Board. It was a pleasure serving and providing music for Tillamook county for 40+ years. We hope that someday we will be able to provide music to our community again.
