Here's my story and I'm sticking to it. I grew up in Oklahoma City, singing from grade school through college. I sang in church choirs, show choirs, chamber choirs and theater ensembles.
In 1976 I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Music education from Central State University. I began my teaching career in Oklahoma City Public Schools. From 1988 - 1995 I was the clerk and president of Mustang Public Schools Board of Education. In 1995 I earned my Master's of Elementary Education Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. In 1997 I began my Administration career in Mustang Public Schools. I retired from Education in 2006.
I moved to Port Isbel in Texas and became a resort activities director. I enjoyed planning daily activities, dances, hosted visiting entertainers, and planned parties of all sorts of FUN! I sang with the South Texas Choral for 3 years. I became the Director of Valley Voices - a small group who did performances locally and the Choir Director of the United Methodist Church. In 2013, I moved back to Oklahoma and became involved with the Talk of Tulsa Show Chorus (Sweet Adelines) and the Broken Arrow Community theater.
I traveled to Oregon every fall...and decided to move here in 2024. I live in the coastal town of Garibaldi. I teach classes at the local YMCA and joined the Bay Ocean Community Chorus.
I am excited to be the new Director of Bay Ocean Community Chorus - we are going to Sing Great Together!!
Whatever your level of experience, we hope you’ll enjoy performing exciting choral music with excellence.
