Bay Ocean Community Chorus is an inclusive choral collective that uplifts, inspires, and enriches the spirit and quality of our community through performance, education and outreach.

About Us

Many of you may know the Tillamook Community Chorus. It was a music icon in our community for 40+ years. Due to the pandemic we had to make the heart wrenching decision to shut it down.

However, in 2024 the spirit of choral music came to life! It is now Bay Ocean Community Chorus (BOCC) and we made our debut in September of 2024! We are excited, energized and blessed to sing and share the love of choral music with our community once again.

We invite you to come join us – either as a participant or in our audience. We appreciate your encouragement & support.

DO YOU LIKE TO SING?

There are no auditions for the chorus and it's not required that you know how to read music. It is necessary and important that you do all you can to learn the music by the scheduled concert time.

Whatever your level of experience, we hope you’ll enjoy performing exciting choral music with excellence.

Get to know a little bit about our Director and Accompanist!

Choral Director

She is a highly motivated, enthusiastic, result-oriented professional with music experience. She works effectively with a variety of personalities who will encourage and keep singers interested in the goal of performing to the best of their abilities.

Caryn Backman

Accompanist

Caryn has taught and performed music in Tillamook for decades. The has taught piano, various band instruments, and voice lessons to countless young musicians. She is a pianist and accompanies other local musicians.
